Pre-wedding Portrait in Sirmione
British born Rachel and Italian Mirco live in Germany. So choosing the venue for their wedding was never going to be a simple affair.
They opted for the stunning castle, Rocca di Lonato del Garda, and chose Rebecca at Armony to help with the planning.
I met up with them for the first time the day before the wedding in picturesque Sirmione. This town is one of our favorite locations around Lake Garda. Sometimes over run with tourists, you just have to seek out the back streets to get a feel for the place. This is exactly what we did on their pre-wedding portrait shoot.
Even though we shot this late in the day, it was still 40+ degrees. The weather in Lake Garda can be very hot in August.
We were all hoping for a bit of breeze on the big day so we didn’t melt during the open air ceremony at the castle.
August wedding at Rocca di Lonato del Garda
When I arrived at Rachels hotel room, hair and makeup preparations were well underway. Malcesine based makeup artist Jacqui O’Shea was doing a great job, and the air-con was turned up to the maximum to keep us all cool.
When we arrived at the castle, perched on a hill overlooking the southern part of Lake Garda, a cool breeze greeted us. Perfect for the ceremony and reception drinks. As the night fell we moved into the marquee for the wedding breakfast.
It’s traditional to have games at weddings in this area, but I’ve never seen anything quite like the WeddingOlympics.
Think it’s fair to say then everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We love creating family heirlooms for our couples in the form of individually designed art book albums. Bound and printed on gorgeous matt art paper, we keep the design clean and contemporary, combining typography and images to tell your story.
Don’t let your wedding pictures spend the rest of their days as data on a hard drive. It’s something to show the children, grandchildren, etc.
Here’s the design we produced for Rachel and Mirco.
