Time of Year: August
Planning: Italian Lakes Weddings
Preparations: Hotel Erika
Venue: Malcesine Castle
Boat: Siora Veronica
Reception: Ristorante Al Cosaro

The average hotel bedroom is perfect for two people, but with one bride, five bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, a hairstylist, a wedding planner and a photographer it starts to feel a little busy. And that’s how it was at Hotel Erika for Jane’s preparations. I had to get up close and personal, part of the action from the outset.

It’s not far from Hotel Erika to the Castle, and I was assured that the driver of the little blue Fiat 500 would take his time so I could walk the route. Well, when its sewing machine engine spluttered into life the driver took off like a member of Team Red Bull Racing F1. I literally had to run through the streets chasing the car, grabbing a few shots along the way.

After the ceremony the Fiat took the couple from the Castle down to the port, however having learned my lesson I walked in front this time to control the pace, and hoped that the driver wouldn’t run me over.

This was my first trip on the Siora Veronica, Malcesine’s 1926 ‘Lake Barge’, definitely the most stylish way to get out on the lake with your wedding party. Even a rain shower didn’t spoil the experience.

This was followed by a walk through the town, huddled under newly purchased umbrellas to Ristorante Al Cosaro for the meal and speeches. After the first dance the DJ played ‘Dignity’ by Deacon Blue. I’m guessing that this is some kind of Scottish anthem, because the wedding party went completely crazy. A great way to end Jane and Mark’s wedding day story.

We would just like to say a huge thank you for capturing every moment of our amazing day. We love how the fun and happiness shines through in the photos. It was great to chat to you both before the wedding and to have you there throughout the day. From Jon chasing our wee wedding car to the castle to get the perfect pictures to us all dancing the night away. The castle and boat pictures are stunning and the pictures of everyone laughing throughout the speeches are some of our favourites. We also love how you got so many pictures of our guests enjoying themselves without anyone even noticing!

We had quite a big wedding party and lots going on but Jon was so chilled out and patient that there was never any stress. It went like a dream! We would definitely recommend Janda photography as the service and personal touches provided were second to none.

It was lovely to meet you both and we wish you and your family all the best for the future.
